Located on a 2.5-acres in Tijeras, New Mexico, Archery Ridge Goldens is starting an adventure that we hope will carry on for years to come. Our journey began when we adopted our first dog over ten years ago. In the last three years we have adopted three more dogs, as well as adding goats and chickens to the mix.  

We have fostered our children’s curiosity, intertwining it with the spirit of entrepreneurship. We have cared for animals with Giardia, eye infections, hip dysplasia, and minor injuries. Each challenge we have faced has come with many gifts.

In 2023 our daughter asked for a Golden puppy. We bought her a female pup who died after only a few weeks in her new home due to an intestinal infection. This experience reminded us of the give that life is and inspired us to try to breed dogs with good genetics. A few months later, we adopted a one-year-old Golden female who needed a forever home without delay. She was not registered like we hoped but she was a great fit for the family, and we were glad to rescue her.

               Steps we are taking to ensure ethical breeding:

1. Selective Screening: We evaluate potential buyers, ensuring our pups find loving families committed to their well-being.

2. Annual Breeding: Quality over quantity—We plan to breed our Golden Retriever, at most, once a year to allow each litter to flourish, as well as to ensure the health of the mama.

3. Holistic Care: Vet visits for both mom and puppies will be routine.

4. Lifetime Commitment: We offer a lifeline—a promise that our Goldens can return home if circumstances change.

   We are dedicated to the ethical breeding of robust and healthy Golden Retrievers, ensuring that they contribute superior genetics to the breed over the long-term.
